Well, we are here to disprove that misconception! We've created a gallery of designs that work surprisingly well without adding a bulky or heavy headboard.

There are many reasons why a bedroom cannot accommodate a headboard. Perhaps it is a sloping attic that does not leave enough space to put a headboard without having to place the bed in the center of the room.
Perhaps the designer doesn't like the chunky look of most headboards or is trying to achieve a minimalist or understated design. These are all reasonable responses to saying no to a header.

A sloped ceiling can make it difficult to fit a headboard. Get rid of it entirely and use a freestanding bed frame like this one. the contrast ofblack furnitureAgainst the dark brown wood and white background, it creates a unique and simple design space. The bright green of the small tree in the foreground is the only strong color in the room.
Here's another angle of the same room, better this time with the bed and the impressive sloped ceiling. Making the ceiling the highlight of the room means that the rest of the room should remain neutral.
